OUR MISSION.
Over the past few years, we have noticed a large decline in our bee population. Since 1940, the bee population has decreased by 50 percent. As around 80 percent of crops in the U.S. are pollinated by bees, the extinction of this valuable species could lead to a large loss in our food supply. To put things into perspective, bees are responsible for one-third of all food we consume, including berries, peppers, cucumbers, and nuts. Though the exact cause of this epidemic is unknown, many think that neonicotinoids, a type of pesticide, is to blame along with the disease-carrying Varroa mite.
So, our mission? Your mission? Save the bees! Every action counts, from planting a few bee-friendly crops to buying organic. On this site, we'll be posting tips, tricks, videos, and facts about bees and what you can do to help. Remember, bee the buzz to make a change.
